I-Y4460 [ydna] aka I2a1b2a1b

It’s time to write a new topic about Y4460 ydna haplogroup which is a sub branch for of CTS10228. It’s time to research deeper to Y chromosome, considering timeframe ~2300 years ago, when new man was born with mutation, which caused Y4460 Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) in his population genome.

For those who reads this first time, I recommend to read my first article “R1a vs. I2a“. Then more detailed article – I2a1b2a1 aka I-CTS10228, which is about my 2014/2017 research results. Since 2014 year many things happened, many discoveries done, and it’s time to have a look closer to I2a Dinaric YDNA genetics.

My goal of this article is to define details about my belonging to I2a haplogroup clade. Ideally, logical end of this article will be BigY results with newly found terminal SNP, which explains mutated DNA from my father, which defines me as different person – new person in genealogical tree I research since 2003 year.

This post intended to be also always-updated, as soon as new information arrived, but strictly related to Y4460 and downstream branches. That parent article will remain up to date, but only regards that parent level.

atDNA [86-8-6]

UPD: Latest article about similar information is atDNA #3 [ethnicity admixture]

===

In late 2014 (Dec-08) I received FTDNA results about my atDNA via “Family Finder” test.
Previously, in 2014 I made Y-DNA test, so I belong to paternal DNA lineage within haplogroup I2. More details here.

Here is short at-DNA results, based on FTDNA:

  • 86% – European,
  • 8% – Jewish/Ashkenazi,
  • 6% – Middle Eastern.

So what does this all mean?

I2a1b2a1 aka I-CTS10228

Since I started DNA research in scope of my genealogical research, I joined Family Tree DNA service [USA], and this post is dedicated to to Y-DNA testing. I do updates of this blog post, as soon as I receive/discover something new and relevant.

First of all I ordered Y-DNA37 only (Jun-2014). It gave me I-P37 as a main predictable haplogroup (but in red color, which was prediction). Later I ordered Y-DNA-67 (Oct-2014) test for more detailed data (more markers – more accurate data, and more accurate matches research). Then I requested a few SNPs, and here are all my results:

I2a-P37/L621+:

  • CTS10228+ (Dec-2014) [Nov-2016: C+, V4023 C+]

    • A2512 C- [Nov-2016]
    • S17250- (Jul-2014) [Nov-2016: YP204 G-, V3022 G-]
    • Z17855- (Apr-2015) [Nov-2016: G-]
    • Y3120/Y3116 (Aug-2017)
      • Y4460+ (Feb-2015) [Nov-2016: A+]
        • SK1241- (Y31845) [May-13-2017: C-, and also SK1242 G-]
        • Y3106 (Nov-2016). B57 T+ [Jul-2017]
          • Y3118- (Aug-2014) [Nov-20116: T-]
          • S8201- (Dec-2015) [Nov-2016: T-]
          • A6105 C- (Oct-2016),
            • A6106 C- (Nov-2016)
            • I-Y16810 (Feb-2017 moved as sub-branch to A6105. So 99.9% negative.)

Long story short: I’m I2a1b2a1b (based on positive I-Y4460). Neither FTDNA nor YSEQ have new terminal SNP to continue my research (Aug-2017).

UPD: 01-Aug-2017, I ordered Big Y, and details will be analyzed in I-Y4460 [ydna]. as soon, as I receive results.

UPD (May-28-2016) – Now, confirmed haplogroup for me is child entry I-Y4460.

Now, let’s dive into details 🙂

R1a vs. I2a [Y-DNA]

In 2014 year I ordered my first Y-DNA using FamilyTree DNA. I-P37 (I2a1) – this is the name haplogroup, which defines my Y-DNA tribe ~10000 years ago. I-P37 is a child branch of І2 aka M438. And this is tribe with the name Dinaric, Balkans group, South Eastern European people. My first Y-DNA test was based on 37 STR base. Details here. But more details in my another post “I2a1b2a1 aka I-CTS10228“.

My goal #1 is achieved – I know what main tribe I belong to. But this is time line ~20000 – ~10000 years ago. It’s very ancient tribes and very ancient DNA. And before go deeper and to closer years, I do research and follow genetic information about what is exactly I haplogroups and how it’s related with other DNA haplogroups.

But before my Y-DNA tests arrived, I expected to be R1a, but it turned out I’m I2a1 (aka I-P37.2).
So all these thoughts bring me here, to this post – I want to describe, research and classify for myself all about I haplogroup and also R haplogroup – the main in regards to Ukrainian as natianlity.

Для чого робити ДНК тест?

Шукав я просторами інтернету, що ж то за такі генетичні тести можна проводити, щоб взнати більше про власне походження. Ось перелік причин, від автора на єврейському форумі – Для чего вообще делать тест ДНК?
